Privacy Policy

CSS DNA is designed to be privacy-first. It does not collect, transmit, or sell your personal data — the only data it ever handles is the optional email you use to verify a Pro subscription.

What CSS DNA does

• The extension reads the styles of the web page you are actively viewing, only when you explicitly activate it (by clicking the toolbar button or pressing the keyboard shortcut). This processing happens entirely on your device, in your browser. Inspected CSS and extracted design tokens are shown to you and copied to your clipboard at your request — they are never sent anywhere.
• It stores small preferences (your last export format, chosen framework, and Pro status) in Chrome's local storage on your device.

What CSS DNA does NOT do

• It does not collect your browsing history.
• It does not run analytics or telemetry.
• It does not contain ads or trackers.
• It does not send the contents of pages you visit to any server.
• It requests no host permissions and runs no remote code.

Payments

Pro subscriptions are processed by Stripe. When you upgrade, you are taken to Stripe's hosted Checkout; your payment information is handled entirely by Stripe and is never seen by or stored in CSS DNA. To unlock Pro, you enter the email address you used at checkout; the extension sends only that email to our billing endpoint, which asks Stripe whether that email has an active subscription and returns a simple "yes/no". We store your email locally in your browser (so you don't have to re-enter it) and cache the yes/no result for up to an hour. We do not run our own user database. Permissions

• activeTab / scripting — to inspect the page you choose to run CSS DNA on, only on your action.
• storage — to remember your preferences and Pro status locally.
• alarms — to periodically re-check your subscription status.
• No host permissions: the subscription check is a standard cross-origin request to our own endpoint, and checkout opens in a normal browser tab.
